The lovely grad
My new hoodie! Yea Miami University (Ohio...not Florida!)
DH on his grueling 8 1/2 hour 100km mountain bike race...he finished!
Some garden renovation...replacing old lavenders with new and planting bare root roses
My helpers in the garden (wish I could teach them to weed)
I am plugging away on my BOAF Friendship Sampler and am aiming to finish this weekend (I hope, I hope). I will be sure to post as soon as I finish! Eager for a new start but I won't let myself 'til this one is done.
My dear mother, who is dealing with severe osteoporosis, was just diagnosed with AMD, age related macular degeneration. For a avid reader, this is not good news. It makes me so sad. I canceled her subscription to the New York Times, which occupied a nice part of her day since there is so much to read. No doubt about it, getting old sucks!

Congratulations to your beautiful grad. Wishing her well in the future.
So sorry to hear about your Mom. Losing my eyesight is the scariest thing I can imagine. I hope she can find means to at least slow its progression.
Congratulations to the lovely (!!) graduate!!
You have had a busy June with DD graduating, hubby in a race, gardening, party for DD. Boy that makes me tired just thinking about all that. Cats are beautiful. I had a 19 year old kitty, she looks like your cat in the last photo. She just passed away this past year. Sorry to hear about your mom.
Does she like to listen to books on tape.. I love to read but I can't do reading and stitching at the same time. I like Books-on-tape, that way I can listen and stitch. Happy stitching!
What a busy month of June you have had.... Sorry to hear about your mom. How would she feel about books on take? Even though I am still fairly young I always have that dread of growing old... I just want to spend as much time with my family and enjoy life as much as possible. I am coming back home to Ohio to visit family and I cant wait.
Have a great weekend!
Oh, Barb, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom... My mom lost her eyesight in her left eye 22 years ago to macular degeneration, but, thankfully, it never affected the other eye so she can still read.
Loved all your photos--your daughter, garden, and cats are all so pretty; your husband looks pretty muddy and determined :)
Hope your summer is going well--you'll be an empty nester before you know it...
Your daughter is beautiful and a huge congratulations. My son is looking at going to Miami of Ohio too, but not until next year (if he gets accepted that is). So sorry to hear about your mom. I can't think of anything worse than losing ones eyesight. At least there are books on tape, so hopefully she won't feel like she's missing out on reading.
My m-i-l has MD - so many aids to help her reading - believe it or not, my ott light with a magnifier worked for her for quite awhile. There are lots of tricks the hospital near her taught her for day-to-day living. Good luck, it really is hard to adjust...she also has monthly injections in each eye to slow the progression.
